Custom Epoxy SUPs from a HARD Paddle Board Manufacturer in China

A rigid epoxy SUP remains the benchmark for on-water performance: zero flex underfoot, sharper rails, and glide that no inflatable board can match. 4S Sports is an epoxy SUP manufacturer in China building rigid paddle boards for brands, distributors, and rental fleets. Every board starts from a shaped EPS foam core, laminated with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin to your specification — in any shape, layup, and graphic your market demands. If your range also includes inflatables, see our inflatable SUP collection inflatable-sup

  • Hard SUP Board Types for Every Market

From first-time paddlers to race podiums, one construction covers the whole market.

  • All-round SUPs

10'0"–11'6" × 30"–34", planing hull. The volume driver for beginners, families, and rental fleets: stable, forgiving, and easy to paddle.

  • Touring SUPs

11'0"–12'6" × 30"–33", displacement hull with a pointed nose. Built for distance: efficient glide, straight tracking, and deck cargo space with bungee tie-downs.

  • Race SUPs

12'6" and 14'0" stock-class lengths, 24.5"–28" wide. Narrow, stiff, and fast; carbon reinforcement and a single center fin are standard at this level.

  • Surf SUPs

under 10'0" × 29"–32", with surf rocker and responsive rails. Thruster or 2+1 fin setups for real wave performance.

  • Yoga SUPs

10'0"–11'6" × 31"–35" with a full-length deck pad for grip and comfort through every pose.

  • Fishing SUPs

10'6"–12'0" × 32"–36" with extra bungees, D-rings, and rod-holder mounts.

  • Kids’ SUPs

8'0"–9'6", lighter and lower-volume for young paddlers.

  • Epoxy SUP Construction & Materials

Every 4S epoxy SUP starts as a high-density EPS foam blank, CNC-shaped to your outline and rocker, with an optional wooden stringer. Lamination uses fiberglass cloth in epoxy resin — 4 oz and 6 oz cloths are the industry-standard weights. A light performance layup might run a single 6 oz layer on the bottom with 6 oz + 4 oz on the deck; a heavy-duty rental or school layup can go to double 6 oz on the bottom and triple 6 oz on top. We tune the schedule to your market's weight-versus-durability target.

Why epoxy and not polyester? Polyester resin's styrene attacks EPS foam, so an EPS blank must be glassed in epoxy — there is no alternative. Epoxy is also stronger, more UV-stable, and far more resistant to yellowing, so your boards stay lighter and look newer for longer.

For targeted performance we add carbon rails, a carbon stringer, or carbon nose and tail patches — stiffness exactly where it counts, without the weight penalty of extra glass. A bamboo or wood veneer deck delivers the natural-wood look that commands a retail premium. For maximum impact resistance, a PVC sandwich option — high-density PVC foam laminated between fiberglass layers, as used on leading race boards — is available.

  • SUP-Specific Design Features

Details that separate a proper SUP from a shaped surfboard with a handle:

  • Full-length EVA deck pad with diamond-groove texture for traction and comfort.

  • Recessed center carry handle, flush with the deck.

  • Leash plug(s), glassed in before lamination.

  • Self-venting Gore-Tex plug: its microporous membrane continuously equalizes internal air pressure as temperatures change. Heat expands the air trapped inside the EPS core; without venting, that pressure pushes the laminate away from the foam — delamination. The membrane lets air pass while blocking water, so there is nothing to open or close.

  • Bungee tie-downs and D-rings on the nose — plus tail cargo on touring and fishing models.

  • Fin Systems

US fin box with a single fin: the touring and race standard for tracking and glide. 2+1 setup — side bites plus a center fin — for all-round versatility. Thruster for surf SUPs. FCS II tool-less boxes and Futures-compatible single-tab boxes are available to support two widely used removable-fin ecosystems.

Shapes, dimensions, rocker profiles, and volumes built to your spec — or developed from your samples and rider feedback. Lamination schedules and reinforcement placement tuned to your price point. Graphics in paint spraying, water-transfer decals, or full-board printing; natural bamboo or wood veneer; sanded matte or polished gloss finish. Private-label logos, barcodes, and retail-ready packaging.

  • OEM/ODM Customization

Every board is weighed against its target specification. Lamination quality, fin-box alignment, vent-plug function, and water-tightness are inspected before packing.

  • FAQ
  • What is the difference between epoxy and polyester boards?

Epoxy boards use an EPS foam core glassed with epoxy resin; polyester boards use a PU foam core glassed with polyester resin. Epoxy is lighter, stronger, and far more UV-stable — and it is the only resin that can be used on EPS, because polyester resin's styrene dissolves EPS foam.

  • What does the vent plug do?

The air inside an EPS core expands and contracts with temperature. The Gore-Tex membrane in the vent plug continuously equalizes that internal pressure while blocking water, preventing the laminate from pushing away from the foam (delamination). It is self-venting — riders never need to open or close it.

  • Should my product line carry hard epoxy SUPs or inflatable SUPs?

Hard epoxy boards win on performance: better glide, a stiffer feel, sharper rails, and higher speeds — the choice for touring, racing, surfing, and experienced paddlers. Inflatables win on portability and storage. Most established brands carry both; see our inflatable SUP range inflatable-sup for the travel-friendly side of the line.

  • Can you customize the fiberglass layup?

Yes. We adjust cloth weights, layer counts, and reinforcement placement — carbon rails, stringer, and patches — to hit your target weight, stiffness, and price.
